  • ½ cup milk (or heavy cream for richness)
  • ¼ cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional, for warmth)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

For the Topping:

  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • Packaged cinnamon roll icing (from the can)

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

2. Cut & Layer Cinnamon Rolls

  • Open the cinnamon rolls, set the icing aside.

3. Make the Custard

  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter.
  • Pour the mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces, making sure they’re well coated.

4. Add Topping & Bake

  • In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans.
  • Sprinkle the mixture over the casserole for a crunchy topping.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and set.

5. Drizzle with Icing

  • If too thick, add 1 tablespoon of milk and stir until smooth.
  • Drizzle over the warm casserole before serving.
